Repost for the evening crowd. A skylight filter tones down a lot of the exaggerated colours I was getting in the first roll. Or it’s the lens on this camera, or a bit of both. I can’t believe how well it does with neon, and other artificial light, considering how poorly it does with low natural light and even sunsets.

Nothing about the photography, but even though they aren’t that similar, the building in the top pic reminds me a lot of the Metropolitan Life North Building:

I guess the setbacks, combined with the angled front and window proportions. In any event, the North Building really should be completed one of these days:

OK, I’m amused.

Actual reason was of course the Great Depression. It’s a situation like the Hearst Tower where they built the base of the tower, but then the rest was too expensive given the circumstances.

Maybe try a faster speed film? It’s overcast in most shots (the snow shots) and the nighttime stuff on 200 is pushing it hard, even with a very fast lens.

I personally prefer Portra over Fuji (didn’t always) when it comes to lower light. It’s much cleaner, somehow. Though nature shots on Fuji Pro in daylight are gorgeous.

I like alley shot a lot, great tones. I’ve mostly shot Superia  in full sun

Oh I will, I’ve got a roll of Portra 400 and HP5+ to try as well as a couple other things. All I’ve shot so far is Gold 200 and now a couple  Superia 200, just seeing how everything responds to different things.

Thanks, I’m happy with that one. That’s what I should’ve been doing too, but there hasn’t been much full sun here lately, plus I’m liking finding out how films respond to different things

Thanks! I took it on a whim out of my friends sunroof. It turned out way cooler than I expected, so I’ll have to take more.

Nice shooting. Love the first shot and the snowing shots. And the neon looks really nice, too. I’ve got a mess-ton of expired Superia X-Tra 400. The colors are really nice (though a little wonky as it’s way expired). But in-date Superia 400 does a nice job with the colors. Give it a shot.

This is useful to me. I put a roll of superia 200 in one of mine when it was really sunny and then the clouds came out. I'm going to try developing myself so it might turn out like shit anyway.
